It’s about time! A judge in Los Angeles has apparently had enough. Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer has sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail for repeatedly violating the conditions of her probation for the DUI conviction back in January.
I’ve heard all the arguments: Celebrities need to learn they’re not above the law, or it serves the spoiled little rich girl right, or whatever. All those claims may or may not have some merit, but that’s not why I’m relieved she’s finally going to be locked up for a month and a half.
I hope the reality check Paris Hilton will begin to experience on June 5 saves somebody’s life. You don’t have to be rich and/or famous to think you’re indestructible; you only have to be young. And while her digs won’t exactly remind Paris of one of her family’s hotel rooms, maybe the time spent incarcerated with 2,200 other people will give her a chance to think about life and how one’s actions really do have consequences.
I don’t much care who you are. You have no buisness whatsoever driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. That stuff is illegal, not to put a damper on the party, but because people actually die in those crashes. It’s not a joke. And yes, Paris, it can even happen to you.

Right on!!
It’s just so sad that people who seem to “have it all” still come up with ways to make themselves miserable. I really do wish the best for her.
