The End Of An Era?

I posted a couple of days ago about the big on-air broohaha between Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck on “The View.”  Well, as it turns out, that was literally the end.

Rosie had reportedly arranged in advance not to be there on Friday, and the shows for that day as well as Monday’s Memorial Day edition were pre-recorded before the big blow-up.  Now, we’re finding out that Rosie has opted out of the last three weeks she had remaining on her contract.  Or maybe it was a mutual decision…

As I said earlier, I don’t watch “The View.”  No real reason why; I just never got in the habit after I lost my day job.  When I tried to watch it on Friday, it was pre-empted by the Presidential news conference.  Turns out it wouldn’t have mattered, anyway.

Will I start watching?  Probably not.  So I will neither “miss” Rosie nor judge her replacement against her standard.  But for those for whom “The View” is a daily requirement, I hope things turn out well.

I never watched it, either. I’ve always appreciated Rosie’s ability to say whatever is on her mind, regardless. That’s something I’ve never been able to really do, especially in public. But that Elisabeth - geez! She’s way too in love with George Bush for my taste. He’s an idiot with a capital “I” in my opinion, and so is she! (I never said I couldn’t speak my mind on the internet. LOL!)

Oh, I agree about Rosie speaking her mind. God Bless her!! And I’m mighty glad you speak your mind in cyberspace. I’ll make a public speaker out of you yet — watch out! ;-)
