Well, it’s finally happened: I sent an email to FOX News commenting on one of their stories because I just couldn’t help myself.
Did you see the cell phone video of the football coach tackling the student who had skipped school, then thrown a stink bomb into a classroom full of students taking their final exams? Now the kid’s mother is suing the coach, the school, and probably anybody else who stands still long enough.
Less than two months ago, a student who was wandering the halls at Virginia Tech sure wreaked a lot of havok, and if a teacher had been able to tackle him, maybe some of those young people would have lived to get their degrees.
I say give the guy a medal, or a pay raise, or something. All he did was hold the kid down until security arrived. Oh, that, and he very likely stopped some future vandalism.
The ones I feel bad for are those students sitting there, taking their exams, trying to do what’s right, only to have their world invaded by a hoodlum. And If I had VT flashbacks, how do you think THEY were feeling?

You’re damned if you do, and you’re damned if you don’t. I agree, good for the coach!
I agree. If the teachers were allowed to be strict like they were when we were in school you’d have a lot more respect out there. And these parents need to wise up, Their “good” kids need smacked once in a while. A good belt whippin’ never hurt me!
Terri and I were in the band together in high school. Our director was a former Marine Corps Drill Sergeant. (I still have nightmares about that ^*&(#$*%*^ bullhorn!) But you know what? We were GOOD, and we had PRIDE — both in ourselves and our school — and nobody got shot on campus.
I’m not suggesting that we beat the kids half to death or make them live in chronic fear, but the way it is now, the inmates are in charge of the asylum!
