TheNewsRoom is a video web service where bloggers may go to get free, fully licenced video news clips to post on their sites. How cool is that?

It’s called “mashing,” and the stories come from the top names in the news business: the Associated Press, Reuters, and Agence France-Press. The range of topics is wide as well, with stories on regional, national, and international news, health, business, entertainment, and politics, to name just a few. There’s also a special section dedicated to the 2008 Presidential campaign. Here’s just one example of the quality packages available for use:

Access to this wealth of material is actually even better than free; with their mash for cash program, bloggers can earn money every time a clip is viewed from their websites. I could even win prizes!

This is a great way to add quality content to my blog from trusted news organizations around the world, and it’s easy to do with a simple copy and paste. I keep looking for a down side, but I just can’t find one here.
