BJ found my current insurance card in a file drawer, and we hopped into the Jeep hoping to find a certified mechanic shop willing to squeeze me in for that inspection without an appointment.
As luck would have it, the very first place we tried had a cancellation, and the timing was just right. So within five or ten minutes, they were pulling the wheels to check out those brakes I had installed back in March.
Aside from a burned out tail light, everything was fine.  It took about two minutes to install the new bulb, and voila! A new, legal inspection sticker — and a valid certificate of insurance inside the car. Right now, life is good.
