One of the really nice benefits of clearing out piles of saved papers is that occasionally, you stumble across you forgot you had that’s actually worth having.

Such is the case with a gift certificate I had bought at an auction for some carpet cleaning services.  I picked it up back in March of 2006, and it got pushed aside with a bunch of other stuff.

Clearly printed on the front of the certificate is the “This expires in one year” banner.  Ah, geeze!  I spent about 35 bucks for this thing, and it’s valued at $57.95.  There’s a waste of good money, and my carpets are trying to survive five dogs, so I could really use it right about now.

Fortuntately, I called the company, and a very nice lady there chuckled when I told her what had happened.  Then she said, even though it’s expired, they’ll still honor the certificate.  YAY!!!

So Vapor Jet is coming to my house a week from Friday.  It’s the little things in life that make me happy!
