On July 3rd, the pomeranians will be five years old, and apparently, both are experiencing some sort of midlife crisis.
Neither Ginger nor Bandit has ever had any problems with loud noises; they even survived the annual fireworks displays quite well. But now, all of a sudden, both are absolutely terrified by thunderstorms.
I don’t know what happened, but it’s affected both of them. Even thunder rumbling off in the distance sets them to a bad case of the shivers, and they knock each other away trying to climb up on my head.
All I can do is hope this is some sort of weird phase they’re going through — and wear long pants and long sleeves any time storms move through and I don’t want all the skin scratched off my body.

They actually make dog anxiety pills, natural ingredients, you can pick up a pack at Petco. We considered giving them to Penny for car rides because she would totally freak out anytime we got near the van with her. Fortunately she’s not so bad about it anymore. Whew.
