The baby shower today was, in short, amazing.

There were maybe a hundred people there, and I lost count at 32 babies! Newborns, a couple of months old, toddlers — they had all the bases covered! I was beginning to wonder if there was a place in town renting out kids and baby slings for the afternoon!

Denyelle (the mom-to-be) was radiant. She was back and forth among big happy grins, sentimental tears, and nausea. And she made out like a bandit!  All of those new moms seemed to understand just what she would need.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen quite so many onesies, diapers, teddy bears, and bottles collected together in one spot.  But she’s a good kid, and I hope the many gifts help welcome the little one in style.
