Here They Come!

We’re just a couple of weeks away from Halloween, and that means gearing up for lots of trick-or-treaters.

I don’t know where all of these kids come from, but I’m pretty sure we import them from all the towns and cities in our area.  It’s nothing to have 200 or so dogs, Spidermen, princesses, cowboys, vampires, and football players trudging up to the front door.  The number is usually higher than that.

The teeny ones are always the cutest.  I remember one baby in particular from a few years ago.  Her mom had made her costume out of fuzzy fleece.  She was a dalmation puppy, complete with the floppy ears.  And she was such a happy little thing!

There’s not a lot of call for sexy costumes, although some of the older kids try to push the envelope every once in awhile.  It’s always funny to see them in that awkward age between “I’m too old” and “I still want the candy.”  They also help to keep an eye on the little ones.

I’m glad the kids have a good time, and I pray they all stay safe.
