If you know anything about fixing cars, I need your help.
I don’t know why, but the gas gauge in my Jeep seems to enjoy scaring the bajeebers out of me. As I was on my way to church Sunday morning, the needle was below the “E,” and the annoying bell and yellow gas pump light were on. I thought I had plenty of gas, but hey! Somebody could have siphoned. After all, gas prices being what they are, I wouldn’t be at all surprised.
Now when the tank on the Jeep is empty, I’ll spend at least 60 bucks to fill it. Since I didn’t have that kind of cash with me, I settled for $20 worth. Lo and behold, when I started the engine afterward, the gas gauge was registering full again!
My car covers a lot of territory around here, and I’m not inclined to want to hoof it. My pelvis still isn’t up to that. But I don’t want to pull into the nearest (read not the cheapest) gas station to avoid it, either. Is there a quick, easy, and inexpensive fix for this one? Thanks!
