So here we are, at the very end of another year, and inevitably, thoughts turn to making some resolutions.
As a rule, I don’t make new year’s resolutions, not because I don’t see things about myself that I need to work on a little bit (or, in some cases, a lot!), but because I always feel like such a failure when I break them. And I always break them.
This year, I could resolve to do a lot of things: stop climbing falling out of trees, for example, or quit smoking, or get another job. But since I’m turning 50 this year, I figure that’s traumatic enough.
If I DO make any resolutions for 2008, they’ll be easy ones to keep. Maybe I’ll resolve to enjoy more sunsets, or eat more chocolate, or watch more mindless television. Somewhere on cable, I’m sure Richard and the gang are flipping a house and investing in some more Folly Beach real estate. Happy New Year!
