I’m pleased to see that Paige Davis is back on “Trading Spaces” on TLC.
She left the show three years ago, and it just wasn’t the same without her. They tried all sorts of gimmicks like extra money bonus rooms, but nothing really worked for me. Paige was there to both stir the pot and reign in the craziness as needed in those earlier shows, and her influence was an integral part of the show.
Now it’s old school, with a thousand bucks, two teams, two days, and no peeking. That original formula worked so well for so long. Of course, Doug and Hildy can be a bit on the ornery and rebellious side, but I’m always willing to kick back in some comfy home theater furniture and watch the fireworks fly.
I hadn’t watched the show in so long, I didn’t realize she left! I remember when the other girl was the host too, before Paige.
I guess that tells you how long it’s been seen I’ve watched Trading Spaces! I used to be so addicted to that show. Where’s Paige been? I know she was doing some work on Broadway, has she been there the whole time?
I’m not really sure where she’s been, truth be told, but she did mention last night that she’s divorced and remarried. Maybe she had some personal issues to deal with, or maybe it was the usual contract stuff.
I’m happy to see Paige as well. I saw her on an interview last week on Ellen’s show and said that she had been fired. She only came back because the new management of TLC offered her the job back, etc. She didn’t leave because she wanted to, but she did come back because she wanted to, and that’s a good thing!
TV execs can be such pinheads sometimes! The bad part is that they make these horrible decisions and then are seldom held accountable for them. I’m glad they finally got some sense, even if it took three years!
