Screaming Parrot, Crouching Weiner

Astro the evil sun conyer still would rather bite me than not, but he’s getting on fairly well with all the other members of the family.  All, that is, except Buddy.

The bird doesn’t talk yet, but he has quite a list of squawks and calls he uses for different purposes.  Our little mini dachshund is endlessly fascinated.

When he’s happy, Astro makes a low-pitched chatter sound that best translates as “ruh-ruh-ruh-ruh.”  When he wants attention, he uses a loud, shrill call that sounds like “RAH! Ruh-ruh.  RAH!  Ruh-ruh.”  And then there is the distress call.

It’s amazing how such a little bird can generate so much volume.  He can just about break glass when he wants to.  And when he’s upset, he lets loose a noise that sends shivers up my spine.  That’s where Buddy comes in.

It would appear that he sees the bird as DTV.  Dachshund Television.  Hi-Def Animal Planet, all for his very own pleasure.  But sometimes he gets a bit too interested.

Whenever he gets brave enough to jump up with his front paws onto the table where Astro’s cage is parked to get a better look, Astro responds with that blood-curdling scream.  So far, it’s been an effective deterrent.  But I still think Buddy believes the bird would taste like chicken.

I just have to say that I absolutely love the title of your post! The post is entertaining too, I hope that bird never gets a hold of your dog!

I have to concur with Lynne. Great title. Very funny post. Made me smile. And I have to agree with Buddy…the bird probably does taste like chicken :-)

Thank you both very much. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile! ;-)

I’m sure it does as well! Astronut is providing entertainment to Buddy, that’s good, let’s just hope it won’t attack him!

The whole situation is pretty entertaining, overall. BJ always makes sure the dogs are outside before Astro is allowed to come out of his cage. We’re trying hard to avoid –um– misunderstandings?

Your title! HAHAHAHA! Dachshund Television! HAHAHAHAHA!

Buddy wants to eat Astro. If it happens, make sure to get pics and vids. LOL!
