Have you filed your income tax return yet?
I haven’t. And for me, that’s highly unusual because I always had the payroll clerk withhold extra money so I knew I would qualify for a refund. We call it Hoopie Christmas in these parts.
Anyway, since I lost my job last February, then collected unemployment until August, then broke my pelvis and had to give up the teaching gig for the fall, I’m worried. Yes, I had 10% held back from the unemployment, but who knows if that was enough? And since I won’t get paid for teaching this spring until midterm (the end of March), I don’t have enough cash to pay the bills I already know I have, much less sending a chunk to the IRS.
I suppose I ought to get it done; I’m pretty sure my income (or lack thereof) for last year qualifies me for the lowest tax bracket. At least I hope so.
Maybe I’ll check out some term life insurance quotes before I dive into this. I might just want to throw myself from a tall building one day soon.

I’m still waiting on a few forms, but we’re paying this year. I’m not in a hurry to file because of that!
I hear you, Colleen. Beware the Ides of April!
Mine aren’t done either. With relocation, new job and now, online pay, I’m very worried. We also hired a new financial advisor and I’m afraid he may have screwed up one of our retirement accounts, so there may be penalties with that. Guess I should at least get them done, that way I’ll know if there is damage or not instead of just worrying about it!
Financial advisors — BLECH!!! I can screw up your finances for a LOT less money!
