Certain questions are better left unasked. The obvious one is, “What ELSE could go wrong?” It has been my experience that vocalizing that question will inevitably lead to an answer, and it’s never good.

So I’m more than a little ticked off at my toilet right now.

Last night’s trip to the bathroom (in the dark, of course) led to that oh-so-cold-and-wet feeling, along with the squishy sound on the rug. The immediate reaction was to get mad at whatever dog it was who took the whole bathroom thing a bit too seriously. However, since there was no obvious suspect, the rug got tossed into the tub to be dealt with later, and a quick wipe made the tile OK again.

In the light of day, though, it became obvious that the dogs were off the hook. Right now, there’s a little “sham-wow” fort built up all the way around the base of the bowl. The problem is figuring out just where the leak originates. The drip looks like the tank is to blame, but it could be seeping out from around the wax ring, too.

You have no idea how much I hate plumbing. Those little fake shammy things could be there for weeks!  And if it stresses me out too much, I’ll be in the market for the best acne treatment I can find for that nervous breakout.

That sucks! I hate leaks, of any sort! Argh! Good luck finding the cause.

Oh, Stinky, I’ll work on electricity any time, but telling me I have to fix plumbing is like handing me a prison sentence. And BJ can’t do it — one, that shoulder is still not right, and two, there’s an irresistable tendency to tighten the wrench until the fixture breaks. Sigh.
