Sure Beats Using A Brick!

Well, THAT was embarrassing.

I had some errands to run today, including getting to the bank before it closed, so I was getting dressed to leave when the phone rang.

As I finished the call and dashed out the door, pulling it closed behind me, I realized that my keys were still on the other side.  And yes, it was locked.

Fortunately, one of my neighbors has apparently had some practice locking his keys inside, too,  because he used a credit card and was in as quickly as he could have been with the door being unlocked.  It was pretty impressive.  He even showed me how to do it without chewing up the card.

To paraphrase Martha Stewart, I learned something new today, and it was a good thing.  But I still felt like an idiot.  And I’m not nearly as sure about the security that lock provides as I once was.  I’m just glad I didn’t have a deadbolt.  And I’ve decided to give Marisa a key so the next time I do something this stupid, I can hopefully save a little face.

That’s never good – to be locked out, I thought at first you’d forget to put your pants on or something!

I don’t know if I’d be confortab;e knowing that a neighbour ould get in our place that easily, unless he had a key… but that’s me, the suspisious one! ;-)

Pants!? Dang! I never thought to check on that! ;-)

The only reason I chose this neighbor is that I DO trust him completely. He could have a key to my house, and I wouldn’t worry at all.
