Yeah, I hear you — there she goes, stating the obvious again — but I just can’t help myself. Sometimes the things people do just confuse and amaze me.
Case in point: Why is it that kids, when walking up the middle of the road in a group, will without fail split up and move to both sides (sort of) to allow oncoming traffic to pass? Why not stay in a group and move to one side to give the driver more room to get around them? They stick together and follow each other around in any other situation I can think of!
Why do we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway? When did the word “through” officially change its spelling to include just four letters? Why, if you don’t have enough money in your checking account to cover a check, does the bank charge you even more money you don’t have for NSF? Why do dogs, with their keen sense of smell, find the stinkiest thing in the yard to roll around in? Why are former smokers usually far more sanctimonious than people who never smoked? Why does the power company get away with charging me taxes on the taxes on my bill?
Why, oh why? Things like this make my brain smolder. I think I might need some more coffee. Anybody got a good capresso machine?
