I think my brother has been pouring Miracle Grow on the doggie kibble.
BJ and I had some errands to run this afternoon, and our travels took us near Dave’s house, so we decided to stop by and see if anyone was home. We had a very nice visit, and I got to see the bloodhound pups.
My, how they’ve grown! My brother and sister-in-law have four of the nine pups left, and they’re keeping the one black and tan, so we’re still trying to find good homes for the other three little boys. I say “little,” but that’s hardly accurate.
At this point, the pups are above my knee at their shoulders when standing on all fours, and when they stand on their hind legs, they easily reach my waist. Wow. Add Mom and Dad to the mix, along with the hyperactive vizla, and the back yard is a reddish tan blur of fur, dust, freshly dug holes, and howls. They were all so excited to have somebody new to play with, and they’re all jealous of the others getting some attention. It was overwhelming but a lot of fun to say hi to everybody. My favorite is still the runt. He’s the calmest of the bunch, and his fur is a little blonder than the others. He also has the most beautiful, expressive eyes.
Some people were coming later tonight to see about getting one of the pups, so maybe the population has dropped again. For my brother’s sake, I hope so. I can’t even imagine feeding that brood! If he can’t place them soon, he’ll probably be doing some serious talking to a few mortgage lenders. After all, that much Miracle Grow will set you back quite a bit!

Oh! I bet they really are adorable! Hopefully they’re able to find homes for the remaining pups and get life back to normal, that’s a lot of work!
They’re adorable — but they’re rowdy! That’s why I like the calm one!
They are all adorable but some time its very difficult to mange them. Thats good they’re able to find homes soon. My doggy is also like runt calm blond furs and I love his eyes, really beautiful and expressive.
