You Want WHAT Kind Of Cable?!

I went on a mission today, but unfortunately, it was not “mission accomplished.”

I was hoping to find a cable with a USB plug on one end and RCA plugs on the other.  That way, I could patch a cassette deck into my laptop and record some of the quartet’s music onto the hard drive with the ultimate goal of burning it onto a CD.  Most of the stuff we get comes on CDs already, so it’s a simple drag and drop operation to make the master disk.  But that darn analog stuff is making me crazy.

Since I had to go to WalMart for Charmin and dog food anyway, I thought I would see what I could find there.  They have cables for HDMI, S-video, RCA, quarter-inch, coaxial, USB in five different configurations, and a whole lot more, but none of them combines the two specific ends I needed.  I couldn’t find an adaptor to buy one of each and join them, either.

I guess I’ll either have to go to Circuit City (something I dread) or scour the internet.  Who knows if they even make one of those things?  Why do I frustrate myself like this?  Sheesh!

You can do what you are attempting, but you need to “capture” the audio from your USB port.

You can use a device like this which will work for both audio & video:

This will allow you to grab analog audio and convert it to digital.

I’m glad someone was able to give you some assistance! It made my head spin just reading all the technical jargon! LOL
