I must be getting really old.
It seems every single student is hard wired to some electronic device constantly. From cell phones to ipods, all of the kids are tuned in to their own little worlds, mildly annoyed that they have to share band width with the other electrophiles.
Oh, sure, I would much rather see ear buds than boom boxes, and at least I don’t have to hear it from several hundred feet away, but still. Nobody seems able to carry on a normal, face-to-face conversation anymore. Unless it’s in the form of a text message, no communication takes place.
All of these devices have made staying in touch 24-7 not only possible but virtually required. I think it’s kind of sad. I need my down and away time, and it’s getting harder to come by every day.

I’m sure glad your bums are happy now!
Whoops this post was for the chair article! Pushed the wrong button.
I know what you mean! I love my peace and quiet… I guess we’re just old…er…
I just worry about all of us becoming even more isolated than we already are — and all in the name of connectivity.
