So Britney’s mom has written yet another book. Surprise, surprise.
Lynne Spears’ third tell-all, Through The Storm: A Real Tale of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, dives into Britney’s issues with addiction and drug treatment, Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy at age 16, her older daughter’s relationships with Kevin Federline (”a caring daddy”), Justin Timberlake, and one-time manager Sam Lufti, whom Lynne says told her he was grinding up pills and feeding them to Brit in the hope that it would send her into a coma so that doctors could clean her up once and for all. Sheesh.
The one thing Spears’ book doesn’t do is acknowledge responsibility. She talks about the “shock and dismay” she felt upon hearing Lufti’s story. She swears she never pushed her kids to perform. Instead, she talks about the selfless maternal instincts behind giving up her own job as a school teacher to support the little prodigy.
Get a grip, Lynne. You sold Jamie Lynn’s story for a million bucks to a British tabloid. You’ve been riding the coattails of Britney’s celebrity since she was a toddler. I for one am glad you gave up teaching. Scavengers like you have no business influencing other people’s kids. And I pray Britney’s last stint in drug rehab really did work so she can get the fog out of her head and protect her own children from their grandmother.
