Well, it’s been a little over a month since the fall semester started, and things are still going smoothly.

The students have published the first two editions of The Trumpet, our campus newspaper, and the comments so far have been favorable.  Oh, sure, there have been a couple of gaffes, and certain people will always take great pleasure in finding every one of them, but overall, they deserve to be proud of themselves.

The news stories have been well written, and the photos look pretty good.  Nobody has confused a solid editorial with a list of easy green bean recipes or an unsubstantiated rant against the arcane practice of assigning grades.   The folks who have bought ads are happy with them.  And the kids are learning a lot with each edition.

I’m proud of the students, and I’m still having fun working with them.   They seem to be having fun, too.  Next week, it’s the Homecoming issue, though, so keep your fingers crossed!
