Why, thank you! It's good to be home, even though we did have a lot of fun. The old batteries are nicely recharged, and I'm ready to start back to school.

Nope, we don't get paid here for returning bottles or cans. I remember going out as a kid and digging through the bushes for those old 16-ounce bottles the companies would wash and reuse (two cents apiece then -- quite a tidy sum!), but not anymore.

Happy you like those cookies (biscuits in French)! Wait 'til you try the Coffee Crisp... yummy! Thank you for "playing" along, it's fun to trade like this!

As for the cans, you guys don't have recycling? Here we do, we get 0.05/can and 0.10.bottle (plastic). It adds up pretty fast, but maybe your way pays more.

Thanks, Lynne. I just hope he doesn't weird out on us. (I'm also hoping the neighbors don't complain too much about the possible squawking!)

It's funny how some people who live in Buffalo have never seen Niagra Falls, for example. We want to go somewhere with lots of interesting and unusual things to do, but neither of us really likes big crowds and tourist traps. Between now and next summer, we'll probably change our minds 20 or 30 times.
